Deck-building

This format is for casual and competitive game play that draws from a common group of cards called the Wilds. This format allows all players to have access to the same cards and provides increased playability and discovery of new combinations.

Deck-building Set-Up

Deck-Building begins with each player having a Den deck of only 6 cards:

1 Meat, 1 Plant, 1 Bug, 1 Wood, 1 Stone, 1 Crystal.

Market

Deck-building uses the standard market featuring the top row with one of the basic resources (meat, plants, bugs, wood, stone, and crystal) and in the row below each resource, one copy each of the corresponding basic structures (butchery, farm, hive, timber mill, stone quarry, and mineral mine). In Deck-Building formats, when you Barter for a Basic Resource it goes directly to your Den discard.

Wilds

Next to the Market will be a large stack of at least 100 face-down cards called the Wilds that comprises a collection (or a curated selection) of single copy cards. This can include Actions, Beasts, Items, Special Resources, and Structures.

To access cards in the Wilds, they are placed in the second row under a few conditions:

1) When you barter for a Basic Resource, cover the card in the row below it with the next card from the Wilds face-up.

2) Whenever there is an empty space in the second row of the Market, place the top card of the Wilds face-up in that space.

Events & Relics (Optional)

Events and Relics decks can be used for deck-building formats as well.

The Event deck will operate as normal, switching season after the designated number of turns indicated by the event cards.

The Relic deck will be a collection of Relics that can be obtained through a number of strategies.
